Helsinki Trip: Suomenlinna Island

Backpacking – Mom & Son: Helsinki plan

kami berada di Helsinki selama 24 jam:

  • 10 jam pertama bermalam di bandara (baca ceritanya di sini),
  • 10 jam eksplorasi Helsinki (Suomenlinna Island & All around the City), dan

setelah membeli tiket di mesin tiket di dalam bandara, kami memulai hari dengan naik bus dari Vantaa menuju tengah kota Helsinki, kemudian tram ke market square (don’t ask the detail, we google-map-ed our way to the port,

tanpa google map, aku hanya butiran debu…   -____-“

sesampainya di market square kami baru ngelihat kesibukan orang2 mendirikan tenda2 buat jualan… yaaaa lupa ini minggu, jam 9 pagi.. helsinki masih sepi! (padahal udah laper, yaaa bawa bekal sih, tapi kan buat piknik, masa iya piknik makan angin -__- cuman berdoa kuat2 si tole ngga cranky aja)

perfect for mama >>> gratisan dan instagrammable, wkwkwkwk ^^

durasi perjalanan?

  • perjalanan ferry sekitar 15 menitan.. pemandangannya baguuuuuuuuuus bangeeeeet (sampe tole lupa kalau dia laper) rasanya looo lihat lautan biruuuuuu  sejauh mata memandang dan pulau2 kecil gitu, langsung bikin pengen berpetualang ala2 treasure island..
  • keliling pulau2nya semampunya sekitar 2 jam – niy jalan kaki santai dan foto2 (we had around 175 87 pictures (175 pictures covered all Helsinki Trip), doyan fotoooooo dan semua2 difotoin, mau bikin video ala2 vlogger juga, tapi gagal, kebanyakan ketawa… hancuuuuur deh hahaha ga bakat ngartesss), stan suka banget gegara banyak bukit2 dan batu2 yg bisa dia naikin.. hadeuh.. sementara emaknya hobi molor anaknya hobi amat ngabisin energi yak…
  • picnic di salah satu taman 30 menit, meski suhunya dingin tapi matahari bersinar terang, lumayan lah sambil menghangatkan diri…
  • nongkrong di cafe 30 menit juga,
  • took a nap 30 menit (moloooor bu????)

jadi total 4 jam kami habiskan di pulau Suomenlinna

(horeeeee.. masih punya 6 jam buat exploring the city!!! ceritanya bakalan nyambung lagi yaaaa…)

ada 6 museums (kami ngga masuk nih, bayar sekitar 4-7euro/museum <- *oalah nak, maafkan yaaa mamanya kismin) jadi yaaa cuman foto2 aja didepannya, hehehe, lagian kalau minggu bukanya lebih siang jeeee, kan kami juga pengen keliling kota, hahaha… *alesan

*devil mode on

Sejarah Suomenlinna

Why I (still) don’t write that much

Ok. I know I promise to write so many things, but I always have lots of excuse 😉 and good ones..

after becoming the PIC (eh ada loh yg nanya, PIC itu apa, person in charge, semacam ketupel gitu deh, ketupel apa ya, ketua pelaksana -ok ya..) ah ok, long explanation, let’s start again..

after becoming the pic for edcamp indonesia on APRIL then went to Jakarta to attend the launching of edtechindo,

i was assigned as a chairman of national seminar on educational technology on MAY (it’s amazing!)

while at the same time, have to carry out the gov-funded research, dissertation proposal, and the students’ theses… And teaching..

i’ve been thru a lot of wonderful and awful events, have so many interesting topics to be written, but i felt too tired to write it down.. My bad..

so here I am.. Joining an upgrading program for teachers for 3 weeks in Prigen (a small town, around 60km from Surabaya) .. Staying in a nice hotel with abundance bandwith..

once again, i promised my self to write, and write, and write.. 🙂

Pursuing PhD, the biggest dream

Wish Vs Reality

Wish: When I browse around, I find a PhD vacancy that match my profession and career, and the requirements are just that easy to be fulfilled.

Reality: The PhD vacancy in EduTech is somewhat “rare” (compared to let’s say… nano technology…) so IF I only wait for the postings from research centers then I will have to wait another thousand years.

Therefore I’ve got to do the steps forward.

I applied for Talent Scouting Program (by DIKTI – the National Ministry of Higher Education in Indonesia)  in 2014 and I got the opportunity to join as one of the DIKTI Scholar (to apply for Postgraduate studies in 2015-2016). Then I applied for the second category, where I should choose 4 Universities.

Choosing 4 universities that offer PhD in Educational Technology is also a bit complicated. Not many universities directly stated that they offer PhD in Educational Technology or Instructional Technology like the Open University in UK (Yes, United Kingdom >.< ).

Most universities are offering PhD in Education with research focus as stated in each professor’ page or the research centers.

so I’m thinking of New Zealand.

(((( NEW ZEALAND ))))

Among the education-minister websites of countries which I have browsed, so far I only find that NZ is the only country that put the digital storytelling officially in their early education website. This is interesting and it matches with the focus of my research proposal.

There are 7 Universities listed by DIKTI. There’s only ONE out of those seven unis that has a center in EduTech (the Victoria University of Wellington). The other universities are: Uni. of Auckland, Auckland Uni of Technology, Massey Uni, Carterburry Uni., Uni of Waikato, and Lincoln Uni. of Canterburry. Actually, the Otago Uni. has a center for learning technologies, but unfortunately, DIKTI has no cooperation with them.

the PREPS

I contacted some of the teachers. I also got an opportunity to talk to the Graduate School Coordinator and discuss about my application. She said the two things that could help me are the fact that I was graduated from UTwente, which they recognized as a good worldclass university, and I have an article published internationally. hmmm.

Yuhuuuu, NZ.

Mom’s Time: Flexible or Super Flexible?

I thought, a mom should be super flexible, especially a working mom with a baby

~ beginning..

my baby was several months old at that time..

i was about to teach at 7am.. i breastfed my baby at 6am, i planned to finish at 6.15am then prepare him and my stuffs.. he finished at 6.30am, so then we just went to the campus, at 6.50am right before i was about to enter the class, he threw up the milk, on me, then cried hard.. so i canceled my class, delayed it into 1pm..

my hubby and I planned to go to a nice cafe for a nice family dinner out.. when we were about to go, my baby was about to poo.. but it was a bit difficult for him, so we waited for hours and it was late already.. so we canceled the dinner…

~ then..

i think, since my baby is my top priority, then i gotta be super flexible.. well, i’m a flexible woman, so i had no difficulties in being super flexible.. but it was kinda hard for my hubby since he is such perfectionist dad..

~ now…

now my baby is 5 years old.. so I think he needs to learn about schedule..

~ what i do

together we are designing our schedule, when do i have to teach, when he will have his playing time.. etc.

but what is difficult is teaching him how to follow a schedule, but it seems that me, my self, yes, the mother, has temptation to keep on flexible..

urrrrrgh…

~ challenge

to be an Organized Mom!

Mommy’s Morning Routines

OMG

somebody had just asked me what did I do in the morning..

make up?

me-time?

I smile.. though I really wanna say it out loud.. >>>

i wake up,

make tristan a bottle of milk,

get the laundry,

dry the second laundry,

wake tristan up,

boil his bathing water while washing his bottles,

make a cup of coffee,

prepare my hubby’s uniform,

cook a set of breakfast for tristan (bolognese vegeroni),

prepare the next laundry,

wake my hubby up,

help tristan’s showering..

and prepare myself in 5minutes

oh yeah, i’m a working-mom, what do they know..

i luv my life.. i luv being busy.. i luv to be me..
it’s going to be always hectic.. but that’s my life..
